1611 King James Bible Leaf – Book Of Genesis- Printed in London by Robert Barker and John Bill, printers to King James I, The “Authorized Version or The King James Bible” has remained the beloved translation of the faithful for over four centuries. With over a billion copies and in continuous print for over 400 years, no other book in history is its equal. The historic 1611 edition has 59 lines of Old English Blackletter type to the full page. It was issued 5 times in this pulpit folio format- 1611, 1613 /1611, 1617, 1634 and 1640 /1639 . This leaf was physically printed in the year 1613. Extracted from an incomplete “Great She Bible” correcting the printer’s error that occurred in the 1611  first issue at Ruth 3:15 “…and he went into the city.”

The recto contains Genesis 33:7- 33:12a   (Jacob and Esau & Dinah defiled)

The verso contains Genesis 33:12b- 35:5a  (The Shechemites are spoiled)

A handsome leaf printed with 2 beautiful floriated initials.

A huge blackletter pulpit folio leaf- Measures: 15 3/8″ x 10 1/8″ and is printed on cotton linen paper sometimes called rag paper.  GOOD
