Appointed to be read in Churches. Imprinted at London by Robert Barker, printer to the King’s most excellent majesty Anno 1632. Features a lovely heart shaped lozenge surrounded by the four evangelists, the dove and the lamb all bordered by the twelve apostles and the twelve tribes of Israel, a few closed (repaired) tears , verso has an ancient owner’s inscription with a quill, Nice ! , COMPLETE.

KING JAMES DEDICATION, 3 pages, features the beautiful royal coat of arms woodcut and a large floriated initial on the opening page, lightly soiled from use, lightly stained on tops, bottom quarter of first leaf torn out and now replaced with sympathetic blank paper with loss to the text, Good !, COMPLETE.

THE TRANSLATORS TO THE READER, 9 pages, the forward, opening page featuring an amazing fleuron headpiece engraving and a large floriated initial with the upper blank fore edge margin repaired with a square of paper. THE NEW TESTAMENT, unpaginated, signed Eee4- Sss8 , Printed in wonderful Gothic blackletter type font with 71 lines to the full page. Features lovely floriated initials throughout, final page contains the colophon dated 1631 and an ornate cherubic tailpiece woodcut with the verso being blank and clean. One leaf in Matthew (6:7-8:28) supplied in neat ancient manuscript while maintaining the typeset format. Staining to the upper inner columns from 1st Corinthians through the end. NO loose, torn or missing pages, paper is supple and generally bright with dust staining to the page tops, normal soiling from age and use, adequate margins all around, some tender corners, straight edges and clean gutters.
