THIS WAS A VERY TEDIOUS AND LABOR INTENSIVE PROCESS THAT WAS COMPLETED WITH A RULER, A QUILL AND A POT OF RED INK. THIS DETAIL ADDED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE COST OF A BIBLE AND WAS RESERVED FOR THE VERY WEALTHY INDICATING ROYAL OR NOBLE OWNERSHIP.
